My design philosophy has always been that design is a game. When I’m presented with a problem, it’s my job to come up with the best solution possible. There is always a strategy to it.

In order to consistently produce work of my highest quality, I have to take in as much information as I can, then formulate a plan based on the specific tools given for each individual task.

Because effective design is iterative, I view it as more of a game than a test. There very well may be no single correct way to address a design problem. There might be hundreds of possible solutions but it’s up to me to use what I’ve learned as a designer to fix it, to the best of my abilities.

Like a game, when designing, your first draft often won’t be your best or most successful attempt.

It will take multiple attempts and drafts, in order to reach the best possible outcome, and that’s okay. Design is a game, and you get out of it what you put into it.
